Ann Wahlstrom

-
Small-scale Swedish country crafts and the pulsating non-stop creative energy of New York City may seem worlds apart - but not to Ann Wahlstorm, who's moved back and forth between these worlds synthesizing the contrasting sensual vitality of the experience into her art.
Ann, who came to glass from ceramics, learned her craft the hard way, working long hours a the furnaces of world-renowned glass schools at Orrefors, Sweden, Pilchuck Center in Washington state, and an experimental studio glassworks in New York. She furthered her education with studies at Rhode Island School of Design and the Konstfack in her hometown, Stockholm, a crucible for many Kosta Boda artists.
Like all Kosta Boda designers, Ann's creations have won prestigious prizes, are exhibited by galleries and museums worldwide and are in the permanent collections of individuals and institutional collectors.
