Since 1904, New York City's Times Square has captured the world's attention each New Year's Eve as millions unite to count down the final seconds of the year. New Year's Eve 2007 marked the 100th Anniversary of the Times Square New Year's Eve Ball drop.
The 2009 edition in the Times Square collection is "Let There Be Joy" showcasing a highly stylized design depicting an angel heralding in the New Year.
Philips Lighting, creators of the LED lighting that illuminates the Times Square Ball itself, has developed the technology that adds a battery powered LED light source to illuminate and enhance the ornament's crystal craftsmanship.
