Very few 18th century Jasper figure-form candlesticks have survived through to present day. The figure of Minerva, goddess of the moon, has long been attributed to Henry Webber (1754 – 1826).
Minerva, goddess of wisdom and patroness of the arts and professions is depicted in formal seated position, shown with her attributes of a warrior helmet and shield.
