The plaque or ‘tablet’ is typical of the type used as decorative inserts in the fireplace surrounds and friezes decorated in the Adams style in the 18th century. The design and modelling of the plaque is attributed to John Flaxman Jnr.
The Offering to Peace Plaque is a fitting tribute to the key role played by the creation of Jasper in the formative years of the Wedgwood story. Produced in the new saxon blue coloured Jasper with raised white ornamentation.
