Rose, one of the oldest types of wine, was once snubbed by wine connoisseurs but is now more popular than ever. To enjoy this light, fruity wine and appreciate all of its subtleties we recommend using the correct glass - a ros glass of course! The flared rim directs the wine to the top of the tongue, balancing the sweetness (tasted at the tip of the tongue) and acidity (tasted on the sides) of the wine. The moderate bowl of the glass allows the wine to aerate, releasing aromas to experience the understated flavors that are tasted through smell.

Thats right, taste by smell! You actually have internal nares that allow you to smell from inside your mouth. Since we only taste sweet, sour, salty and bitter, smell is essential to tasting. It allows us to distinguish an orange from a grapefruit and coffee from chocolate. Without smell the orange/grapefruit would just be sour and the coffee/chocolate would just be bitter.

Schott Zwiesel Crystal Glass is made from a formula that replaces lead with zirconium and titanium for brilliance and strength. Schott Zwiesel Crystal Glass is unrivaled for the elegance of its design yet it is dishwasher safe.

Schott Zwiesel, the famed German producer based in one of the world's prime glass-manufacturing centers, has led the glass industry for more than 100 years. The company has many industry "first" to its credit, including the first fully automated production of blown glass stemware in 1967. In the 1990's as the industry struggled with the environmental issues of lead and heavy metals, the company was the first glassmaker to produce lead-free crystal glass of superb quality and brilliance.

Tritan, Break Resistant Stemware

Its latest breakthrough is the patented Tritan technique for producing extra-strong crystalline stemware. The process combines a proprietary mix of materials with tempering of vulnerable points to create the most resilient fine stemware in the world.

Schott Zwiesel is a leading producer of high quality crystalline glassware.
