Classically trained at the national Superior Conservatory of Paris for Music, Manu Katche was promised a noble career as a percussionist in a symphonic orchestra. His career took a turn after he developed what is known as the "Katche sound, " which made his drum stroke instantly recognizable by discerning music lovers. Very soon, he was performing alongside the great French names of music: Goldman, Souchon, Chedid, Michel Jonasz, and most notably, Peter Gabriel on the album So. Immediately, the recognizable sound of his drums was identified by pop-rock stars, and opened the doors to studios and major international stages. He has also recorded for Sting, Dire Straits, Tears for Fears, the Christians, Robbie Robertson, Joan Armatrading, Paul Young, Tracy Chapman, Youssou N'Dour, and o the rs. Praised and rewarded with several Victoires de la Musique awards, both as an exceptional musician and a talented composer, Katche never gave up on his first love: jazz. Today, his sound has evolved into a more electro genre, and he tours internationally with his group with his group the Scope. A phenomenon of French music, Manu Katche is invited by Daum to imagine a musical universe in crystal. The artist brings the craftsmen of the Maison Daum into his world by giving them this new collection: "Timeless. " This collaboration is born from two French icons' desire to unite and interpret music differently. Daum plays with the ideas of rhythm and color by crystallizing a universal symbol, the music note, available in black or blue crystal. With this contemporary sculpture, Manu Katche takes us on a musical journey with a work of art in a limited edition of 500. Blue for energy and black for style, these notes become a unique imprint of the artist. Through this new collaboration, Daum demonstrates its vision of the crafts of tomorrow and chooses to be resolutely modern in style and colors.

Daum, the legendary glassmaker master, has kept alive for more than a century a love relationship with the greatest artists of its time, giving their work of art a second life of crystal and colours. From the Ecole de Nancy, from Art Nouveau to Art Decoratif, from Majorelle to Dali, Arman and Hilton McConnico, Daum has not missed any of the magic rendez-vous of the artistic creation and modern savoir-faire, which has always renewed the alliance of art and art craft.

Few brands have worked with as many artists: for nearly 140 years, more than 350 exceptional signatures have constituted a heritage beyond compare, a unique collection.

How to convey those works into crystal sculptures? This is where Daum's secret lies, shaper of the exception, highly knowledgeable workshop, laboratory of wonders, designer of incomparable objects. All of the Daum pieces are lovingly hand produced in France, using traditional lost wax sculpting technique.
