Cherished Friendships stunning dress in tones of dusky lilac is complemented by her pretty bouquet of a dozen exquisite handmade and hand painted irises, a gift from a dear friend. Bearing the meaning of friendship, the sentiment of the iris flower perfectly expresses how the wise words, deep-rooted affection and faith of a soulmate are loved and respected. Designed with an eye for detail, Cherished Friendships dress includes a silky ribbon trim to each layer of the skirt, a stylish crossover bodice, an off-the-shoulder neckline and three-quarter length sleeves. Her strawberry blonde hair is swept back into an elegant chignon and sparkling platinum jewelry completes her chic look.

In Greek mythology, Iris was the goddess of the rainbow, a messenger to the gods and she was said to use rainbows as the bridge from heaven to earth. The multi-colored petals of the iris flower led to its naming after the rainbow goddess and the flower was considered a symbol of power and majesty the three petal segments representing faith, wisdom and velour. It then also became the name for the colored part of the eye.

As evidenced by the name, Royal Doulton enjoys the distinction of a "Royal Warrant" -- a mark of distinction bestowed upon people or companies who have regularly supplied members of the Royal Family with goods or services. Royal Warrants, regarded as a mark of supreme excellence and quality, cannot be bought or sold.

King Edward awarded the first Royal Warrant to Royal Doulton in 1901. The Doulton Company then became The Royal Doulton Company. Presently, the Royal Doulton brand holds two Royal Warrants, the Royal Albert brand holds two Royal Warrants and the Minton brand holds one.
